Where are you going?

There is an old zen story about a man riding a horse that is galloping along through town very quickly. And a woman, standing alongside the road, yells up to him: where are you going? To which the man yells back: I don't know...ask the horse.

I try to keep this one in mind on days when I feel as though I am being pulled in every direction by plans, expectations, or possibilities.

I try to take a step back and look at what is pulling me away from the present moment.

What are my horses?

Where am I going?
